Ralph Sutton Biography

Ralph Sutton has a well-established background in the music industry as a recording engineer and music producer. Over his more than twenty-eight years of experience, he's worked on many Grammy award-winning projects with the music industries elite, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Lionel Richie and the late great Marvin Gaye. Sutton has now relocated to Memphis, TN from Los Angeles to reopen the legendary House of Blues Recording Studios, Sutton's main goal in Memphis is to focus on the music of the deep south and delta region of the United States, and to share his experience, strength and hope with the Memphis music community through recording engineering and music production. Currently Sutton is the Chairman of the Memphis Chapter of the Recording Academy P & E Wing. Along with being a very active member of the Recording Academy since 1983, having held different posts within the organization, Sutton is also the Chairman of the Memphis Branch of the NAACP ACT-SO music division where he mentors young adults and prepares them for the annual national ACT-SO competition, Sutton sits on the board of the Folk Alliance where his goal is to help with membership and the diversity of the organization as a whole, Sutton is also a Fox 13 Memphis on air personality with a segment called the Memphis Music Connection which focuses on the Memphis music community. Sutton is continuously finding new way to strengten his accomplished techniques when it comes to recording engineering and music production and is always interested in talking about  the music business, recording technology, techniques and community service.
