Nashville, TN — Following on the success of the first annual Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo in 2009, The AES Nashville Section and Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business, in conjunction with the Audio Engineering Society, Inc. in NY are pleased to announce the dates for this year’s session to be held at The Curb Event Center at Belmont University, just steps away from the heart of Nashville’s legendary Music Row.

I’m going to use this entire post to deal with only one subject because it’s so vital to the success of your indie music promotion efforts. Every day I see the same mistake being made in this area and feel I owe it to you to drive this crucial point home.

Los Angeles (February 11, 2010)—The Grammy Museum’s “Mississippi Night” was recently held as a preamble to the 52nd Grammy Awards; the event featured Hubert Sumlin, Honeyboy Edwards, and Hartley Peavey. There, Peavey, founder and CEO of Peavey Electronics Corporation, discussed career opportunities in music with Los Angeles-area high school students before delivering an address during the evening program. Using a backline of Peavey, Trace Elliot and Budda guitar and bass amplifiers, blues artists spanning generations celebrated the legacy of Mississippi’s contributions to popular music with performances in the museum’s Grammy Sound Stage auditorium. The legendary Hubert Sumlin, a past Grammy nominee who played alongside Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf; David “Honeyboy” Edwards, a 2010 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award winner; four-time Grammy nominee Dorothy Moore; four-time nominated The Williams Brothers; and young bluesman Eddie Cotton all shared the stage.
